Everything you need to know when buying your HIKING BIKES
How do I know which hiking pants to buy? What is the difference between the different models? What do reinforced knees and buttocks mean? There's a lot to consider when it's time to buy new hiking pants. We offer a wide range of different types of hiking pants, which can make it difficult to know which ones you actually need. Therefore, we have created this guide to make it as easy as possible for you to find the right pants.
Things to consider
When buying a pair of hiking pants, it is important to think about the purpose for which you will use them. What is your need? Are you going to use them for tough hikes, working in the garden, or walking the dog? The most important thing is to choose a pair of pants that suits you and your needs.
The difference between the different trousers
What distinguishes our hiking pants is the choice of material, appearance and function. We offer hiking pants both in a more robust material or in stretch, with more or less pockets, with or without ventilation, with a zipper down the leg or Velcro, and our pants can differ in how water repellent they are. Here it is important to choose the trousers whose features best match your needs.
Reinforced knees and buttocks
Most of our hiking pants are reinforced at the knees and seat. This means that they have a slightly thicker and more robust material over the knees and seat to make them more durable and resistant. This is especially good if you sit down a lot, for example when working in the garden.
Material/ water repellent
Our hiking trousers are available in different materials. For example our Forsvik and Tidan pants are made of a robust and durable material, which is particularly suitable for hiking in slightly tougher environments or when working in the garden. If you instead want a slightly lighter hiking pant with more stretch that is perfect for the walk or if you want to be able to move a little more smoothly in the garden, we recommend Tänndalen or Norddalen. Most of our pants have reinforcements over the knees and buttocks in the material mountex / dry double face, which means that the pants are water-repellent and can therefore withstand moisture and light drizzle.
Number of pockets
The number of pockets can be crucial in the decision to choose the right hiking pants. All of our hiking pants have at least three pockets for optimal functionality. But if you want a good pant to wear on the dog walk, it can be extra good to choose a pant that has a little more pockets to fit all the treats etc, an example is Forsvik which has many good pockets with a zipper. If you instead want a little bigger but fewer pockets, Tidan may be something for you.
Hiking or walking can easily become sweaty and hot, we have kept this in mind when creating our Tidan pants. Tidan has a hidden ventilation under the knee, and an openable ventilation with a zipper on the side of the thigh. Our other hiking pants have a zipper at the end of the leg, which can both be used as ventilation, as well as facilitate dressing and undressing.
The fit of our hiking pants can vary slightly from model to model. In the description of each pant you will find all the information about how the size is perceived and what the fit is. In general, our pants can be perceived as slightly smaller in the model, so we recommend that you choose the larger one if you are in doubt between two sizes.
To preserve the fit and quality of the pants in the best possible way, we recommend not washing them unnecessarily. Instead, hang the pants out to air for a refresh and spot clean visible stains with a wet cloth. If you do want to wash your pants, we recommend that you wash them individually and without fabric softener to maintain their great quality..
The most important thing to remember when buying your hiking pants is that you are the one who will be wearing them. Think about your needs, what you will use your pants for and what you find most comfortable, stretch or not? Because it's you who will be wearing your pants and we want you to love them, and we hope you will use them for many years to come!
